How many women have been accused of being ungrateful by feminists?
How many of you have been called traitors to your gender?
How many of you have been labeled, brainwashed little girls?
How many of you have been given the never ending clichéd line, if it wasn’t for feminism…(insert nonsense here)?
I am just curious as to how it makes you feel to be told by once mainly female feminists, and now female and male feminists, that you are not capable of making up your own mind on how the world is and how it should be. I think if asked, every individual person would have different opinions on the billions of aspects (people included) of the world and how they should be. Feminists are not invulnerable to this either. Some think porn should be banned while others think it just needs reform. Some feminists believe sexist men are taking chunks out of every woman’s paycheck and giving it to men while others think that Gender Socialization, created by sexist men, is behind the choices women make that reflect on their income.
Regardless of how diverse feminist subdivisions may be they are all connected by the basic misandric beliefs of feminism.
1. In the distant past men as a gender oppressed women as a gender.
2. In the not too distant past feminists freed women from some (never all because feminism always has a lot more work to do) of the chains of the oppressive patriarchy created by men.
3. Today women are subjected to oppression on par with (greater than in the minds of some feminists) African Americans or Jews in the early forties and late seventies…by men.
In my humble opinion, I believe that feminists believe that most women automatically know and accept the beliefs stated above. I believe that the infighting within the subdivisions is not over rethinking the stance of feminism, which is that men are born abusers, and only feminists can educate the abuser out of us. That belief is endlessly and jointly pushed by all of them. No. The infighting is over how many women can be baited, and men guilt stricken into accepting the idea of banning porn over the idea of just reforming it into feminist friendly porn. As long as women adhere to the core beliefs of feminism then there is no major problem with the other aspects of the ideology they may agree or disagree with.
It is when a woman, feminist or not, begins to question the core beliefs of feminism that that woman suddenly looses her status as a woman and becomes a brainwashed little girl. A little girl brainwashed by the Patriarchy. Yes. I do believe that feminists to some extent view womanhood as a status reserved for those that conform with the core beliefs of feminism. Similarities? The Black Panthers for one. If you weren’t with them, then you were a traitor to your race. In fact you weren’t even black at all. If you didn’t persecute Jews then you definitely weren’t a true German according to the Nazis. If you were ok with blacks drinking the same water as you then you were a traitor to your white heritage. If you believe the male gender has not and never will oppress the female gender then you are no woman, but a little girl that needs to grow up and learn how you are being oppressed.
The famous line is if it wasn’t for feminism…
What follows this line is a brand of shaming tactics reserved especially for women.
If it wasn’t for feminism…you would still be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen (feminism has demonized stay at home mothers for over half a century and many women still choose to be, see nothing wrong with, and are happy with being barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen).
If it wasn’t for feminism…you wouldn’t even have the freedom to publicly speak your mind (women publicly voiced their opinions in the media and politics long before feminism was invented).
If it wasn’t for feminism…your husband would still be able to legally rape you (in the United States rape has always been a crime and in the past all men who were accused and or proven to have committed the crime married or not were arrested and in many cases put to death legally or killed by vigilantes).
If it wasn’t for feminism…your husband would still be able to legally beat you (there has never been a law that legalized the beating of wives and it was considered honorable for men to shoot men who hit women, especially if that woman happened to be a man’s wife, a duel would more than likely ensue).
If it wasn’t for feminism…you wouldn’t be able to go to school (women were attending school long before feminism was invented).
If it wasn’t for feminism…you wouldn’t be able to work (women were working long before feminism was invented).
If it wasn’t for feminism…you wouldn’t be able to own your own home (women owned homes long before feminism was invented).
(And the most famous) If it wasn’t for feminism…you wouldn’t be able to vote (women, yes women, were voting long before feminism was invented).
How many ladies here have heard all of these clichéd untrue shaming tactics? Well I have a few things to tag on to the line that my young eyes have observed.
If it wasn’t for feminism…the western world wouldn’t view women as weak victims in constant need of bias laws and rescuing. (see VAWA, Rape Shield Laws, Family Court, etc)
If it wasn’t for feminism…men wouldn’t be viewed as the only humans capable of hitting someone they claim to love (see any domestic violence awareness ad in any shape or form anywhere on the face of the Earth).
If it wasn’t for feminism…women would not view infatuation from men as some form of objectification (women tend to see men staring at them as some form of rudeness, harassment, or shallowness while men tend to welcome and in most cases act positively on the flattery).
If it wasn’t for feminism…every man on the planet (that flies British Airways) would not be viewed as a potential pedophile.
If it wasn’t for feminism…women would not be educated and instructed on how men, save the enlightened few, want to disadvantage them (see Women Studies, Men studies, Gender Studies, whatever you want to call it).
If it wasn’t for feminism…male sexuality would not be viewed as disgusting, dangerous, and in need of control (a man is a rapist in the public eye if a woman says so).
If it wasn’t for feminism…women would not assume that they had the right or capability to define male sexuality or what it means to be a man while at the same time proclaiming that men have no right to voice their opinions on female sexuality and what it means to be a woman (see Women Studies, Men Studies, Gender Studies, whatever you want to call it).
If it wasn’t for feminism…men would not be arrested and jailed for years on the word of a woman (see the Primary Aggressor law or False Rape Society website).
If it wasn’t for feminism…women would not have a latent resentment towards men for falsified and or exaggerated past and present discretions (see International Women’s Day or Equal Pay Day).
If it wasn’t for feminism…men would not be paid the same amount as women who are not held to the same job performance standards (see Police Force, Military, Fire Departments, Construction, Athletics, etc).
If it wasn’t for feminism…women would not be seen by feminists as small inferior children incapable of reviewing facts and making up their own minds just because they disagree with the assertion that men have and continue to oppress women (see Feminism).
